On 2025 June, I open public surveillance cameras from EarthCam and Wolfeye, alongside an open-source multi-user collaborative canvas, TLdraw. My entire desktop becomes the performance site. By sharing my desktop screen, the audience watches me capture screenshots of figures from the surveillance feeds and collage them onto the blank canvas, forming a new narrative. Because TLdraw is also a collaborative webpage, anyone can join in — adding images, text, or comments to the narrative I've already built.
All of these surveillance cameras are public — anyone can find them. Being watched has gradually become the default condition of this era. So I built this stage, and let the act of "screenshotting" itself become something deliberately foregrounded.
On the surface, it looks like writing a story, or choreographing a dance — taking the random, incidental, unconscious behaviors of passersby and arranging, integrating them into a piece of theater.
Everyone is watching everyone. We are also watching ourselves.
