In 2024, my work Protocol with Uncommunicables was selected as a sponsored art project for the Summer of Protocol. During the program, we participated in a three-month collective research process centered on the concept of “protocol,” re-examining its role in the contemporary world from humanistic, historical, and technical perspectives.

 

Infrastructure, media, and technological logic have long been central to my research interests. This work attempts to explore what a “protocol” is, while also responding to a broader question: within an inevitably emerging control society, what does human feeling mean? And how might we weave these human experiences back into the technological processes that shape our social and lived worlds?
